Cannabis for Cancer Awareness week (Last Week of December)

During the last week of December, in honor of my father Richard Thompson who died December 30th 2009 of Stage IV Glioblastomabrain cancer .

I wanted to bring awareness to the usefulness of cannabis for cancer, and also showcase the research that has been done with cannabis compounds to kill cancer.  December 27th to January 3rd we will be celebrating this cause Cannabis for Cancer.

After losing my father, I became more dedicated to the cause of legalizing cannabis.  Not just to restore freedom and liberty, although that is certainly the main part of my pleas.  But also so that we get can much needed research done in this country on the effects of cannabis and cannabinoid compounds on cancer cells.

Without this much needed research, the secrets of cannabis will be tucked away.  Meanwhile our government is patenting cannabis compounds, because they already know the benefits of cannabis.

Just check out US Patent 6630507 titled “Cannabinoids as antioxidants and neuroprotectants” which is assigned to The United States of America, as represented by the Department of Health and Human Services.

It’s certainly time to take this matter seriously.   Cannabis holds so many undiscovered, wonderful medicinal properties.  It is difficult to even count it’s many beneficial uses even now!

Had marijuana been rescheduled, and researched, my dad may have found the benefits that so many others are finding from cannabis, including many professors who can prove that marijuana effectively fights cancer.

I wish so much that the government would stay out of medicine and leave it up to the doctors!
