Prop 8 repealed – Mormons wasted a lot of money!

August 8th, 2010 | By Reverend

It’s too bad the LDS church doesn’t spend more time and money helping out the poor, and the hungry as opposed to spending 10s of millions of dollars to take freedom away from others.  Approximately 77% (22 Million dollars) of funding for Prop 8 came from LDS sources, and that equaled millions and millions of dollars that could have been spent better and more compassionately.  Now Prop 8 was repealed and the LDS church is exposed as fighting AGAINST freedom..   What was the benefits of funding Prop 8?

Historically, Mormons have strong reasons to stand on the side of freedom as opposed to anti-freedom.  So why is the LDS Apostle Dallin Oaks and other ranking LDS leaders so incredibly in favor of anti-freedom propositions like Prop 8?

In the late 1800′s the LDS church and the settlers of Utah almost lost Utah’s statehood.  They had to changed one of their oldest and most sacred doctrines because of the laws passed against their marriage practices.  If the LDS church wouldn’t have repealed polygamy as one of their religious doctrines  (Doctrine and Covenants Section 132), then Utah would have continued to be considered in a state of rebellion and they would have lost their statehood, their property and a lot of realty assets including their sacred temple.

Making polygamy against the law, is just as bad as making gay marriage against the law.   This is what sums it up for me.  “No victim, no crime”, and a contract between two or more consenting adults should be no one elses business except for those people.

Between the unique and bizzare liquor laws in Utah, and the tenacity of the LDS church to promote and encourage support for Proposition 8, its hard to see how this group supports or values freedom and liberty (except for themselves)..  Sad state of affairs here.

On a brighter note, my cousin Becki who is gay, took care of me with her partner when I was a troubled and homeless teen.  The time and care that she gave me in my life will always stick out much more than the cruelty and persecution by the LDS church.   I love her and support her choice and if she chooses to get married, I will be there for that in loving support.  Unfortunately thats not legal in Utah.

Congrats my gay friends and family!

The United Church of Christ in Vermont adopts resolution challenging drug prohibition

July 24th, 2010 | By Reverend

This church has resolved to fight the drug war and end prohibition.

This got me all fogged up. What a beautiful thing, Christians acting like Christ and cops acting like the are actually concerned about reducing harm.

The arrest of Roger Christie, the end of religious freedom in the USA?

July 21st, 2010 | By Reverend

I am astonished that an herb like cannabis that grows from the ground the way that God intended it, and describes it in Genesis 1:29-30, that has no record of ever killing anyone due to toxic side effects is illegal in the first place. But what is more troubling is that in this country we are supposed to be guaranteed religious freedom. But where is it? Cannabis is referenced in the Bible as keneh bosem

The Holy Anointing Oil of Moses was made with 250 shekels in weight of cannabis.

So when does the government get to regulate morality, if there is such thing as freedom of religion?  How can the government judge what is a true religious practice or not?  Are they the moral authority of all faiths?

Most of all, who has cannabis ever hurt?  Cannabis heals, cannabis is industrially viable in thousands of ways, including building material, fuel, paper, rope, oils, etc.

I can not believe that the feds won’t even let Roger Christie post bond, as if he has been proven guilty of anything!

Here is news on this case from the THC Ministry website:   http://www.thc-ministry.org/?page_id=453

This is a video that I made to address the freedom of religion issue in the USA, and I quoted a speech from Barack Obama during his visit to Cairo Egypt.

Morality and marijuana is it wrong

July 12th, 2010 | By Reverend

We shouldn’t really be having a debate on where because something is viewed “wrong” by one person, that it should be illegal for all persons, when the “crime” is a victimless crime, and when there is no other justification from the act to be considered “Criminal” just because it is “wrong”.

Our country was founded on liberty and freedom.  We fought for these freedoms against tyranny and we won.  We won by fighting for what we believe in, at least our brave and determined founding fathers did.

But what we have no is no different than what they fought against to achieve freedom for this nation.

If marijuana is a crime at all, it is a victimless crime.  If we want to get Biblical, then it is obvious and certain that the Bible not only authorizes cannabis usage, but it clearly instructs man to use “every herb that bear seed”..  “for meat”  Genesis 1:29

The Bible also authorizes the use of strong substances.  Deuteronomy 14:26

The fascist that want to run our personal choices and our lives must be taken out of power!   VOTE!!!!

Fourth of July report from Reverend Ryan

July 4th, 2010 | By Reverend

We had a great time at Riverfront Park in Spokane

I was able to freely speak my mind at the Tea Party assembly at the park today (without a permit).  That was refreshing after going to jail for the doing the same thing in Utah a few weeks ago.

I also spoke to Ozzie Knezovich who is running for re-election for the office of County Sheriff.  I am convinced now that I will not vote for this man.
He is a fanatical supporter of this “Drug War” and I can not stand for that.

This is an email that I sent to the sheriffs campaign directors:

I spoke to Ozzie today about ending prohibition and what his opinion is on that.
He cited a lot of statistics from the Netherlands.  I made this video to rebuke these false claims.

I will campaign against anyone in favor of prohibition.
I think Ozzie is a nice guy.  But if he plans on “protecting and serving” the people of this county, he must realize “The Drug War” is not a war on drugs.  Its a war on the American people.

This is my response to Ozzie

Ozzie should check out “Law Enforcement Against Prohibition”   http://www.leap.cc

Thanks for your time!

Sincerely,
Ryan Thompson

CANNABIS CURES CANCER

There is currently no one running against him.  However, there is some unrest with a lot of his deputies, and there was a potential candidate that decided against running former Sheriff Mark Sterk.

I will say this, that if Mark Sterk runs next time on a campaign that includes ending prohibition I believe he will have a lot of support.

This is the news report on the complaints and the political movement within the Sheriff’s department:

This is the list of candidates running. Click Here

I will be writing them and asking them all their stance on prohibition.  It looks like many of them are running as republicans, so I can almost predict the responses from them.  But because Ron Paul renewed my hope in that party as a whole, I will give them all the benefit of the doubt.

Happy Freedom and Liberty day!

Let not the sun go down on your wrath

June 22nd, 2010 | By Reverend

Ephesians 4:26

Be you angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down on your wrath:

So it is written.  This scripture is a more of a recipe for good health.   Anger has wore me out over this past week.

I can tell when I have strayed from the Lord.  Its when it takes me a week to forgive someone.

I can’t remain mad.  I am going to have to eat my losses and move on from this.

I have hope in the almighty that He will make things right.  In good time.

Rev Ryan

<< Matthew 5:9 >>

Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

BTW-  I do have some very interesting video either way, and I am still willing to pay anyone for video if they have any of this event.
Specifically the young lady who walked with me past the old man who screamed at me,  and also your friend who called my wife to tell her I was in jail.   Please contact me.  I still have to appear in court.
I need your statement, even if you don’t have video.
