Musings on a 4th Dimension and omnipresence

March 9th, 2010 | By Reverend

This is my first xCannabis sermon that I’ve made in a long time.

But while watching Carl Sagan tonight, I found a parallel relationship between our understanding of the cosmos and our understanding of G-d or of an omnipresent creator.

Carl Sagan explains our cosmos and the bending that scientist talk about, or as he explains it “a finite universe without boundries” as a 4th dimension. He uses a tesseract to explain this:

Merry Christmas

I am currently enjoying a very hempy and merry Christmas.  I wish the same to you and yours.

The holiday part of Christmas is enjoyable, even though it’s stressful.   Having kids makes this holiday so much fun!

I enjoy the message of Christmas.  The message is fairly trans-denominational, solstice and other pagan holidays, to Hanukkah and of course Christmas.  This time of year is often very special for people.

For us we thank the Lord, and I celebrate Him with His sacred herb.  Cannabis.

Conversation with Rep. Brad Daw

I thought these things that I was saying were helpful and productive, even the constructive criticism of the GOP when I brought up President Bush.
But Representative Brad Daw of Utah didn’t think so, and he kept deleting my post.
Conversation With Rep. Brad Daw about marijuana

Conversation With Rep. Brad Daw about marijuana

=(

Anyway. For a guy who appears like he’s reaching out to his constituents, it looks like he only wants them to have certain information, but not all of it.
Which is what I get from the fact that he left my first post up, and delete my second post.

And then he did the same thing again with the third post, he deleted it, and left only the first post.

Maybe he doesn’t like more than one post on his links?

No, actually, I checked my email, and he had posted on facebook and then deleted it (so that I would get the notification in the email I guess).

His response is:

“You are welcome to comment on my posts, you’ll notice I don’t delete those even you get argumentative, but cannabis is illegal in Utah and I won’t have my page used a promotion tool for it or anything supporting it.”

Why censor anything about marijuana out?  It’s proven as a safe and effective medicine, and even the AMA recently came out in support of medical marijuana.  Which is no small feet, this is the largest physician group in America!

But like the DEA, you are going to play doctor, and pick and choose what is good information, and what is not condonable.

Why don’t you people let the doctors take care of their patients, and why they hell don’t you people stay OUT OF MEDICINE?!

Reverend Ryan updates

November 26th, 2009 | By Reverend

No Gravatar

Alot has changed in the last week. We had planned on going to Idaho for Thanksgiving, but due to weather and other unrelated circumstances we had to stay in Washington. However I have a few updates. I am involved with creating a new business designed to help out Washington dispensaries with a time/date stamp for their reciepts, using freeware open source PHP/MySQL software for all point of sale applications. With the ability to use barcodes, scanners, and a touch screen. This is: www.EmeraldPOS.com (Emerald Point of Sales).    You can use a demo (as a sales clerk only) at:   http://emeraldpos.com/pos-software-demo/

Also, I have a hard time around this time of year.  I lost my best friend/youngest brother when he was 16 which was about 8 years ago.    Cherish your loved ones.  Life is short.  Too short.

Love you!  Happy Thanksgiving!

A fight for religious sovereignty

September 26th, 2009 | By Reverend

The The Oklevueha Native American Church in Benjamin Utah had to fight for their freedom to practice their spiritual sacrament.   It is well known that Native Americans for thousands of years have used peyote in their religious services, and they consider peyote one of the most sacred elements of their religion.  I am not trying to speak for all Native Americans here, only that this is what I have understood from my limited prospective into this culture.

My wife and several sides of her family are Native American, the associated tribes are Cherokee, Bannock Shoshone, Paiute.   My wife and daughters are part Cherokee.  So I have some limited inside information to the practices that I am speaking about here.   My father always raised me as if though we were in a Native American Tribe, when we would hunt, or gather as a family, we had native American roles and traditions that we took part in and it made feel feel closer to the creator and the created.  I truly loved those times, and I miss my father deeply.

The way that this relates to xCannabis, is that in my European faith tradition, and the faith of my fathers which is Christianity, cannabis is a sacred ritual from the Bible.

I have demonstrated this several times in the past with books and well known rabbi’s who have translated the anointing of Moses ingredients from the Biblical passage of Exodus 30:23 to “cannabis” or “hemp”.
Refer to “The Living Torah
by Rabbi Aryeh Kaplan (Author) .

You can see the pages that I am referring to in this video filmed by Roger Christie of the THC Ministry.

You can see a bit more about how cannabis has been used in religion (not just Christianity), for thousands of years.

herb bearing seed

But for me, Genesis 1:29 is enough for the religious argument.

It is obvious that Genesis 1:29 found in the very first page of the Bible authorized ALL herb that bear seed to be used for meat.  You don’t need to be a botanist to know that cannabis is an herb that bears seed.

So what is all of the controversy over?  Has cannabis (aka marijuana) ever killed anyone?  No.

So why are these prohibitionists so intent on denying me my religious sacrament?  Native Americans use mind altering substances in their religion legally, Catholics use fermented wine.   Whats wrong with cannabis?

Here is something that Barack Obama recently said about religions and the free expression of religion.

If we have religious freedom in our country, then marijuana is legal to use in religious practices, as it has been for thousands of years.

Is Reverend Bud speaking prophecy back in the 90’s?

September 24th, 2009 | By Reverend

Back in 1991, this brother “Reverend Bud” was on some right wing nut job talk show host (obviously not as successful as some of these guys, but he has all of the key ingredients).   This “Wally George” fella is like Rush Limbaugh’s wanna be side-kick.

Check this out:

This Wally guy tried to make a fool out of “Reverend Bud” by telling him that we won the Iraq war, and that “Reverend Bud” was wrong about Iraq turning into another Vietnam.

Sorry Wally, Iraq has been another Vietnam since 1990, and it still is bucko!

Does this mean that Rev. Bud is speaking in prophecy?   That’s more of an accurate prophecy than any of these “modern day prophets” of today.   I can’t recall anything that some modern day prophet has been right on.  Some of these “modern day prophets” have given up on prophecy all together!
But not Reverend Bud!  How could he have been so right so long ago?   Hmmm..

Religion and Cannabis, and a question that I got from HempFest

August 22nd, 2009 | By Reverend

Out of all of the questions, and comments and conversations that I had at HempFest, this question made me think the most.

I like when thoughtful people challenge my mind to think.  It’s good exercise for the ol’ brain.

But this question also convicts me if a personal way, because I have asked this question myself in the past.

“What if Jesus fake”?

This is my whole response to this question:

This is also something that I found at The NORML Daily Audio Stash on this topic.  This was posted a few days after I made my video, so my video isn’t a direct response to the article that Russ posted.  But I found it relative.

http://stash.norml.org/third-la-area-raid-royal-temple-of-zion-in-echo-park/

That article about another raid in California.  I thought this raid B.S. was over with?!

This are my responses at the Stash that I posted yesterday  (awaiting moderation):

Your comment is awaiting moderation.

Religion is a constitutional right, and no one can tell someone that their religion is legit or not, that is part of what the 1st Amendment is about, practicing our religion as we see fit.

I have to share two videos that I made.

#1. Is a video that I just made 2 days ago and posted it on YouTube, and its about a religious question asked of me at HempFest this year.

#2. Is a response that I made for Barack Obama in regards to the speech that he recently made in Cairo Egypt.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wa8Q2I4TpZI

Freedom of Religion, and the Religious Freedom Restoration Act of 1999 are important points of those who use cannabis. Because your religion is YOUR religion, and no one should be able to tell you what YOUR religion is. Similar to how the government should have no right to tell you what to put in your body if it’s not harming anyone else.

I see the wisdom in your statements about you somehow being punished for not choosing a religion. But that is your choice to not embrace or create a religion. IMHO

xcannabis says: Your comment is awaiting moderation.

Also Russ about this point:

” We don’t let certain religious folks get away with marrying ten virgin brides because some book says “And if he have ten virgins given unto him by this law, he cannot commit adultery, for they belong to him, and they are given unto him; therefore is he justified.””

In response. I think it is WRONG for the government to impose any such moral standard to commitments between two (or more) consenting ADULTS. Why should the government be able to tell people who (or how many) they can or can not marry? What reasoning justifies this type of law? I haven’t figured that out yet, and I totally disagree with polygamy for myself. I just think constitutionally this kind of liberty shouldn’t be an issue. Some how we as a ‘democracy’ (farce) let stupid things become prohibited. 51% decides the fate of the rest of the 100% of the people. It’s total bullshit.

We’re a republic and we already have a f*&%^$# constitution. (excuse my outbust)

Ok, I feel better. Typo-terretts..

There is this Aaron Russo guy, some movie producer. I found his little show “Mad As Hell” and he makes a lot of great points on this subject.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AfxCPpTrAT0

Just ranting, not at anyone in particular. This is just a sensitive subject for me I guess.

I made videos on this at my http://www.UtahPirateRadio.com website.
