Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly
I have had a lot on my mind lately, and this is one of those things. This is something that concerns my future and equally importantly the future of my children.
Psalms 1:1-3 reads
“Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.”
If I had only one message to deliver my children. If it was one universal truth that I have found has blessed my life above all things, it would be that passage above. This is something that I wish I could say to everyone on a non-religious, non-offensive, non-contentious level. I wish I could embrace my friends, my family and all whom I have ever loved with the simple message in this scripture.
In my walk with Christ, when I have been on the path defined in this scripture, I have found that my life has been blessed. It has not alway been easy. But I have not found myself wallowing in despair or regret. Even after making very tough decisions which have forever changed my life, this scripture and the wisdom found in it has been one that has carried me through, and helped me to see the path that offers the most blessings.
I wrote my biography in 2001, and put it on the net in 2002.
Certainly a lot has changed since then, but this is the beginning of my walk with the Lord. Since then, I have many more blessings count. I will rewrite that story someday.
Praises to the Lord on high!
