Hemp for victory!!!
It is not strange that during the last major crisises in our country, we turned to industrial hemp.
Our own government put out a video called “Hemp for victory” via the Department of Agriculture in 1942.
If you look at our progressive and intelligent neighbor, Canada. You will see that even with their small population, they still grew 48,060 acres of Hemp in 2006. Which account for millions dollars with of tax revenue and export income.
So if I were in an elevator with for example: Senator Les Bock and I had an elevator pitch to toss around with him, since he is on these committees:
Health & Welfare
Judiciary & Rules
I would say to Les. Listen Les, Im not going to tell you how to do your job, you know how to do that. And you serve the people well. But Les, don’t let our farmers miss out on a crop that would stand to pull this country through this recession and beyond! Don’t let Canada and China get all of the export sales on hemp. Let our farmers try to compete in this very valuable global market!
And as I left the elevator, I would salute him and say “Hemp for Victory Senator!”.
However, since finding myself in an elevator with Les Bock is very unlikely, it’s not going to stop me from writing him an email tonight about this topic!
The state legislature’s website makes it really easy!
